Here’s an interesting bit of news for those of you who followed the news regarding the ongoing battle between Facebook and ConnectU:
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss might not have gotten their way with Mark Zuckerberg, but they’ve got a different prize in mind now: Olympic glory.
The identical twins, who founded one-timeFacebook rival ConnectU with their Harvard classmate Divya Narendra, have earned spots on the U.S. Olympic rowing team that will compete later this summer in Beijing. The team’s roster was announced Friday and is currently pending approval by the United States Olympic Committee.
Recently, the Winklevoss twins have been in the news because of their long-running lawsuit against Facebook founder Zuckerberg, whom they had once hired as a programmer for ConnectU.
With Instinctiv, it can! After installing this application, your iPhone/iPod Touch playlists will eventually tailor itself according to your preferences.
First, you’ll need a jail-broken iPhone or iPod Touch. Then you’ll be able to download the application and install it on your device. Activate the Instinctiv shuffle feature and it will tailor your iTunes playlists based on your behavior. There’s no voting involved (it is, after all, your own music). Simply skip the songs you don’t want to hear and be on your merry way.
Pretty cool, right? I can’t wait to utilize Instinctiv on my iPod!

TryThis is a community based recommendation site. When you ask a question, the community gives you suggestions.
You can get recommendations on what to do, where to go and who to meet. TryThis is a great site to get advice on such questions as: “Where’s a good place to get noodles in San Francisco?” or “What tomato sauce should I use in my lasagna?”
The site is pretty simple to navigate and utilize. You just click “Ask a Question” and give some detail about what you’re looking for and maybe why. Your question will be posted. Users will be able to give suggestions.
If you want to recommend something to someone else, just click the big green “Recommend Stuff” button. You can search for products, places, and friend’s profile to link to — depending on your suggestion.
Good news for those who have nervous breakdowns when Twitter is on the fritz (and that’s ALOT)…
Twiddict- short for Twitter addict - is a service that lets you tweet even when Twitter is down. Twiddict will constantly ping the Twitter API to see if the service is up again (practice usually known as hammering; hopefully they’re careful not to send those requests too often), and send your messages as soon as Twitter resumes normal operation.
What can I say? It’s both a blessing and a curse; before, us twiddicts could at least take a break when Twitter was down; this new service is just another way to push us further down into the never ending spiral of Twitter addiction.
